Robert M. Schaeffer

Robert M. Schaeffer, 89 of Hiwassee passed away on October 7, 2022.
Robert was born September 8th 1933 in Fairfax VA. He was the son of late Malvin and Edna Schaeffer. He was preceded in death by sisters, Virginia Wolfe and Opal Butler; and brothers, Eldrige Schaeffer, Billy Schaeffer, and Cecil Schaeffer.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Diana (Croteau) Schaeffer; brother, Marvin Schaeffer; sisters, Lois Williams and Dorothy Havener; four daughters, Deborah Gunther, husband, Mark and children, Sean (Davina), Ryan (Melissa), Nicholas (Lauren); daughter, Bonnie Burchett, husband, Donnie and children, Melanie (Marc), James, Jeremy; daughter, Joanne Parsons and husband, Lester and child, Michelle, daughter, Sharon Fiorillo and children, Aaron (Lacy), Chrisha, Elijah (Heather), Leah (Eric); three sons, Robert Schaeffer, wife, Vicki and children, Bobby, Cory (Amanda), Katie, Christopher (Jessica), son, David Schaeffer, wife, Donna and children, David (Cheri), Adam (Natalie), Kimmie (Jake),Curtis (Chris), son, Raymond Schaeffer, wife, Cynthia and children, Raymond (Cassie), Brittany (Nathan); as well as 38 beloved great-grandchildren.
Robert was a loving father, grandfather, great-grand father and a hardworking man. He was an outstanding brick mason and home builder for 60+ years. He was the owner of Manassas Masonry for 30+ years and then opened a family owned cooperation, Built Right Construction, where he worked hard and retired at the age of 82. Being surrounded by his kids, family and children brought the most joy to his life.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2022, from 10 a.m. to noon at Horne Funeral Home, with Funeral Services to begin at noon in the Chapel. Interment will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens, Dublin.
