Robert Andrew Weddle, 35, of Radford, VA, passed away suddenly on May 1, 2012, in a fatal wreck in Colorado.
He was born May 16, 1976. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Frank & Martha Hollins; grandmother, TrueLove Weddle; and daddy, David Cook.
Survivors include his daughter, Alison Rose Weddle; mama, Doris Cook; dad and mom, Darrel "Smiley" & Dee Weddle; sister, Christy Weddle; brother, Kiley Joyal & his wife, Samantha; grandfather, Joel Weddle; grandparents, Bill & Billie Chrisley; nephew, Dylan Joyal; nieces, Arianna and Kaitlyn; aunts, Wanda Marsoleck and Betty Weaver & her husband, Mike; uncle, Donald Gregory & his wife, Sharon; and "Uncle Gene" Chrisley. Numerous cousins and friends also survive him.
Robert was a hard worker from an early age. As a young boy, he had a paper route and saved his money to buy his sister an Alf doll she wanted for Christmas. Robert had a heart the size of Texas and was always ready to help anyone. He would give you his last dollar if you needed it. He played JV football in 8th grade and in high school he was in the Radford High School Marching Band. Robert was in the Civil Air Patrol throughout his teenage years, where he learned to fly doing search and rescue. He drove am ambulance for the Fort Lewis Rescue Squad and LifeLine Ambulance Service.
He loved playing bass guitar, fishing and camping. He also loved Nascar, VA Tech and Washington Redskins. He especially loved spending time with his family and friends. He was a very loving and generous young man. He will be greatly missed.
In lieu of flowers, a fund has been set up to help offset funeral expenses in the name of Christy Weddle/Robert Weddle Memorial Fund at any StellarOne Bank.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 9, 2012, from 4-7 pm at Horne Funeral Home, with a memorial service to follow at 7 pm in the Chapel. Pastor Chip Sanders will officiate the service.
