Williams, Roma Sisson, 90, of Salem, VA, formerly of Christiansburg, VA, passed away on November 18, 2010.
She was born on January 27, 1920 in Shawsville, VA, and was the daughter of the late Robert M. and Ora Jewell Sisson. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Christiansburg, VA. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Williams, of Floyd, VA; two sisters, Dana Hall and Annabelle Vaden; three brothers, Warren Sisson, Beverly Sisson, and Robert Sisson.
She is survived by her son, Jimmy Williams and wife, Phyllis; two daughters, Mary Ann Shrader and her husband, Elmer, and Becky Deweese; three granddaughters, Tammy Doyle, Stephanie Hudson and husband, Breck and Amy Lofland and her husband, Dustin; four grandsons, Tony Sarver, Terry Williams and wife, Denise, Jeremy Williams and wife, Erica, and Scott Bradford and wife, Amy; 13 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Ramona Sisson, Mildred Sisson, Hazel Tuck and Maxine Tucker; numerous nieces and nephews; and many special friends including, Louise Shanks, who visited Roma very often.
The family would like to thank the staff of Richfield Recovery and Care Center for their support and compassion during her stay, and also Medi Home Health & Hospice. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Christiansburg Fire Department, 111 Depot Street, Christiansburg, VA 24073.
The family will receive friends from 5p.m.-8p.m., Saturday, November 20, 2010 at the Horne Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 2p.m., Sunday, November 21, 2010 at the Horne Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Doug Kanney officiating. Interment will follow at Piedmont Cemetery, Shawsville, VA.
