Ruby Cupp

January 5, 1928 — February 1, 2013

In the early morning hours of Friday, February 1st, God called and Ruby answered. Surrounded in her home by her family, our precious wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother and sister left us to begin her life with Jesus and join her love ones.

Ruby Louise Epperly Cupp, of Merrimac, was born on January 5, 1928 to the late Posey and Lula Hixon Epperly of Ellet Va. Ruby’s life ambitions began at an early age as she became a caregiver and homemaker for her brothers and sister. After marrying her husband, she devoted herself to carrying on the tradition of caregiver and homemaker, making sure his lunch was packed, dinner was on the table and his clothes were always clean and pressed.

Ruby gave birth to four precious children teaching each of them at a young age to love and serve the Lord. She took great pride in their appearance and accomplishments and offered support and made many special memories throughout their childhood and adult lives.

During Ruby’s life she loved and served the Lord, spending hours on her knees beside of her bed praying for her family and the world. She was a member of the Merrimac Pentecostal Holiness church for over 50 years and the head nursery worker forty four years, rocking babies was one of her favorite past times. She worked beside of her husband as custodian of the church, a job she took very seriously. As with anything she did, she was always devoted.
