Sisson, Ruby Alice Wickham, 96, of the Alleghany Otey community of Montgomery County passed away Sunday, April 18, 2010 at her home.
She was born October 6, 1913 to the late Christian Oscar Wickham and Mary Irena Poff Wickham. She was preceded in death by husbands, Paul B. Sisson and George V. Sisson; sister, Mary Hester Sisson; brothers, Schyler, Banks, Clifton, William, Herman, Irvin, Hersey, and Benjamin Wickham.
She is survived by son, Kenneth C. Sisson and his wife, Kathleen A. Sisson; granddaughters, Stephanie L. Sisson and Deborah M. Owen and husband, Terry M. Owen; great-granddaughters, Samantha K. Solomon, Abagail R. Owen, Ava M. Owen; great-grandson, Logan Modoc Owen; several cousins, nieces, and nephews to numerous to count, friends and neighbors from all over the U.S. whom she considered part of her own family.
The family wishes to thank the members of the Carilion Hospice staff and granddaughter, Stephanie, for her devoted and loving care of her grandmother during the last days of her life.
The family will receive friends at the Horne Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 21, from 5 to 8 p.m.. A funeral service will be held at Crockett Springs United Methodist Church at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 22, 2010 with Rev. James Angle and the Rev. Terry Ross officiating. Interment will follow in Piedmont Cemetery, Alleghany Springs.
