Samuel 'Sammy' Snowden Snuffer III

Samuel (Sammy) Snowden Snuffer III, 65, of Pulaski, Virginia, passed away on July 31, 2021. Sam was born on February 1, 1956 in Middlesboro, KY. He was a 1974 graduate of Christiansburg High School.
Sam was a loving father, husband, grandfather, and friend to everyone. He was proceeded in death by his parents Samuel and Marion Snuffer. Sam is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Tonya; daughter, Danielle Snuffer; son, Brandon Snuffer; step-sons, Adam Ferguson and wife Whitney, Josh Ferguson; step-daughter, Anna Crockett; brother, Benny Snuffer and sister-in-law Elaine; sister-in-law, Heather Richmond Safewright and brother-in-law Dan; and brother-in-law, Norman Bateman. Sam is also survived by five grandchildren, Alexis Robinson, Jackson Snuffer, Kali Cox, Ella Cox, and Remi Cox; and great-granddaughter, Nova Robinson; nieces, Carter Safewright, Kim Vaughan, and Christie Mitchell; nephews, Daniel Safewright, Paul Bateman, and Preston Bateman; best friend, Ken Moxley; along with many other loving nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
Sam served in the Virginia Army National Guard. He also worked as a production manager at Federal Mogul, the Radford Arsenal, and Volvo.
Sam loved spending time with his friends and family. He was always willing to lend a hand whenever someone called. He loved sports, especially football and cheered for his favorite Virginia Tech Hokies and San Francisco 49ers. He also coached AAU basketball. Sam was a member of the Christiansburg Jaycee’s where he led the Christiansburg Christmas Parades and Christiansburg Halloween Houses. In addition, Sam was a life-time member of the Montgomery County Moose Lodge. He also enjoyed shooting pool and hanging out with his crew at Sharkey’s in Radford.
The family will receive friends on Monday, August 9th from noon till 1:45 PM at Horne Funeral Home & Crematory in Christiansburg, followed by a memorial service at 2:00 PM. Graveside services will be held at Sunset Cemetery Christiansburg, Virginia.
