Sharon Conner Yeatts, 75, of Dublin, VA returned to be with the Lord
on February 2, 2018.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Yeatts; her parents, James Everett and Annie Conner; brother, Alton Conner; sisters, Bonnie
Johnson and Mabel Wickham.
Sharon is survived by her son, Chadd Yeatts; daughter-in-law Amber
Yeatts; granddaughter, Victoria Yeatts; sister-in-law and husband, Darlene and Bill Leaguel; nieces, Betty Sowers and Angela Conner;
nephew and wife, Gary and Kathy Johnson, nephew and wife, Michael and
Rose McFie Conner; special friend, Darlene Bane; and numerous special
great-nieces, cousins, extended family, special friends, and
neighbors.
Sharon grew up on her family farm in Alleghany Springs (Shawsville),
VA, and loved recounting memories of her farm days and helping her dad
at the farmer’s market. She worked for the Kroger Company where she
met her future husband Eddie and then went onto work at WDBJ 7 in
Roanoke, VA. She then spent her most rewarding years at home as a
wife and mother. Sharon loved the outdoors and spent many hours
laboring in her vegetable garden and landscaping her home. She loved
to travel and always enjoyed sitting on the porch at the Homestead
Resort where she had the talent to make new friends in less than five
minutes. She spent her last years living at her beloved home at
Claytor Lake. She loved her home on the lake and we are comforted
that she spent her remaining moments there as she wished.
The family will receive friends in a celebration of life from 1:00 pm
to 4:00 pm on Friday, February 9, 2018, at the banquet building at
Blacksburg Country Club. A private graveside service will take place
prior to the reception.
In lieu of flowers please send donations to the New River Valley
Community College written to the NRCC Educational Foundation – Eddie
Yeatts Memorial Scholarship, or to the Montgomery County Christmas
Store.
