Shelby Simpkins Roberts, 72, of Christiansburg, VA, passed away on August 2, 2011, at Lewis Gale Hospital, surrounded by her family.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Bobby N. Roberts; her son, Herbert Roberts & wife, Fe; grandchildren, Matthew Roberts, Geraldine Pontawe; a special dog named Bud; sisters, Linda Smith & husband, Bob of Riner, Teresa Davis and Joe of Christiansburg; brothers, Herbert Simpkins, Sammy Simpkins & wife, Peggy, Travis Simpkins & wife, Gail, Nelson Simpkins & wife, Debbie, Don Simpkins, all of Christiansburg.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 4, 2011, from 6-8 pm at Horne Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Friday, August 5, 2011, at 11 am at the Horne Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Jeremy Rasor officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery, Christiansburg.
