In loving memory of Shirley Jane Linkous, a woman of strong character and vibrant personality. Shirley passed away on January 15, 2025. She was born in Greenbriar County, West Virginia. Her childhood home always held a place of high regard and fond memories for Shirley. After moving with her family to Virginia, Shirley met Harry Linkous, whom she later married and became a farm wife. After his passing, Shirley moved in with her son, Clinton Linkous, and daughter-in-law, Billie Carol Linkous. Shirley began volunteering with Montgomery County Emergency Assistance Program, where she spent 20 rewarding years serving the community and establishing special friendships with fellow co-workers like Angela Little and Margie Vitale.
Shirley is survived by her brother David Knapp, son Clinton (Billie Carol) Linkous, daughter Patricia (David) Wolf, grandchildren Marc (Victoria) Linkous, Cassie (Benjamin Wynn) Linkous, Adam (Ashley) Wolf, and Isaac Wolf. Shirley was able to meet 4 great-grandchildren before passing.
Please join us in celebrating Shirley’s life on Tuesday January 21, 2025 at 1 p.m., at Horne Funeral Service with Rev. Ryan Rose officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before. Interment will be private in Sunrise Cemetery.
