Stephen Myers

December 31, 1955 — July 6, 2014

Dr. Stephen Lynn Myers, 58, of Christiansburg passed away July 6, 2014.

He was a graduate of Iowa Wesleyan College and the Oral Roberts School of Dentistry. Dr. Myers a loving husband, father and grandfather, practiced dentistry in Christiansburg for the last 27 years. A couple of his hobbies were piloting his airplane and camping in the outdoors. Stephen could tinker with all sorts of items and was a general jack of all trades. He had a heart for sharing his faith, which lead him to several medical dental missions to India and Ethiopia, and a long time member of Trinity Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents Frank & Elaine Myers. Dr. Myers is survived by his wife, Kathy Myers; children, Merrilee Hartley and husband SSGT John Hartley VANG; LT Andrew Myers, USN and wife, Dr. Kristin Bompiani-Myers, Phd, San Diego, CA; Ada Sue Siler and husband Jonathan Siler, Midlothian, VA; grandchildren, Liam Hartley, Elyse Hartley, and soon to be born baby Siler; twin brother, Dr. Scott L. Myers; birth mother, Carolyn Dworsack; half brothers and sisters, Curtis Dworsack, Greg Dworsack, Sher Balzell, Lisa Dworsack, Mona Dworsack-Dodge and Rick Russell; long time friend and co-worker, Cheryl Nish; numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 10, 2014, from 5 – 8 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. Funeral services will be on Friday, July 11, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Trinity Baptist Church in Christiansburg with Pastors John Altizer and Monroe Hedrick officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery, Christiansburg.
