Susan T. Anker, loving wife and mother, 72, of Christiansburg peacefully passed away at her home with her children by her side on December 5, 2012.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Bernard Anker; parents, Alex & Pearl Yarnot; and brother, David Yarnot.
She is survived by her son, Joel Anker & wife, Georgiann; daughter, Rachel Anker-Johnson & husband, Chris; grandchildren, Selena Anker, Kellen Anker, Coleman Anker, & Adam Anker; beloved cat, Tommy Henry; sister, Christine Brooks of Friendswood, TX; sister-in-law, Shirl Skarda of Sussex, WI; and nieces & nephews, Juliann Brooks, Aaron Brooks, Mary Brooks, Becky Steele & Christopher Yarnot.
Susan took pride & joy in decorating her home, knitting and needlework, cooking for her family and friends, and enjoyed reading, especially poetry, and listening to classical music.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, December 8 at Horne Funeral Home, Christiansburg. The funeral services will follow at noon in the funeral home chapel, with Rev. Angie Hoff officating.
A graveside service will be on Monday, December 10 at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL.
