SMITH, TALMIA MILLICENT "TED", age 78 of Dublin passed away Wednesday, November 10, 2004 at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center.
She was born December 24, 1925 in the Yellow Sulphur Springs Community in Montgomery County to the late Grover C. Smith and Gladys Aldridge Smith. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Irene S. Hagan, Jewelle S. Elliott and Mary S. Liano; two brothers, John Helms Smith and G. Curtis Smith.
She is survived by three sisters, V. Aileen S. Absher of Dublin; Rahma S. Kirkwood of Roanoke and Lydia S. Reece of Dublin; one brother, William Lloyd Smith of Christiansburg and many nieces and nephews. Ted was a resident of several different nursing homes during her lifetime. She loved to do artwork and needlepoint and was quite good at both. She was a member of the Baptist Mountain Harvest Church in Galax.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at Horne Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 12 at the Horne Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. David Hoagland and Rev. Scott Shartzer officiating. Interment will follow in Roseland Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg.
