Thomas Franklin Karr Sr.

Thomas F. Karr Sr. (Papa Bear) of Salem, born June 24, 1933, passed away peacefully at his home on August 20, 2017. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances H. Karr; and son, Franklin Karr Jr.
Thomas is survived by his daughters, Patricia Aswald and her children of Christiansburg, and Melissa Karr and her son of NC; step-children, Linda Mize (Keith) and her son Daniel Hatcher of Salem, Dennis Hatcher, and Raymond Hatcher, both of Christiansburg; and his constant companion, Pearl the cat.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 23, 2017, from 6-8 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, August 24, 2017, at 2 p.m. in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery, Christiansburg.
