Tida Quesenberry

July 15, 1912 — December 26, 2004

QUESENBERRY, TIDA PHILLIPS, age 92 entered into the loving arms of Jesus on December 26, 2004 at Heritage Hall Nursing Home.

Ma, as she was affectionately known to her family, was saved at the age of 16 and had served the Lord for all these years. She had attended numerous Pentecostal Holiness Churches over the years and at present was a member of the Christiansburg Pentecostal Holiness Church. For many years she lovingly took care of her vegetable garden and shared much of the produce with her neighbors. She truly had a ?green thumb? that was evident in the many flowers that she planted. She was an avid quilter. Over the years she quilted many, many quilts for her family and friends. Many hours were spent in her basement praying and singing to the Lord while she quilted. Having her family around during the holidays was important to her. She loved getting in the kitchen and cooking some delicious meals for these occasions. After spending a year and a half in her home with around the clock care, Ma spent the last 3 ? years at Heritage Hall in the care of some precious caregivers. She will be sadly missed but we know that she has attained her goal: to see her Savior.

She was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Charlie Quesenberry. One daughter, Willodene Simpkins. Three brothers, Berlie Phillips, Herman Phillips and Noah Phillips. Three sisters; Gertrude Ousley, Lovelyn Shaw and Lessie Phillips. She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Arnold & Nancy Quesenberry, Christiansburg; Robert & Cassie Quesenberry, Floyd; and Fielder & Barbara Quesenberry, Zephryhills, FL. One daughter and son-in-law, Frances and Bob Skaggs of Millington, TN. Two sisters and husbands, Nannie & Victor Phillips of Indian Valley and Helen & Elsa Cox of Southmont, NC. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, twenty three great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren.

The family would like to give a very special thanks to all the Heritage Hall Staff for their care of our mother during her stay and the care of the entire family in the last hours we spent with her. Their outpouring of love from all of her caregivers and the Carilion Hospice will never be forgotten.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the Horne Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 29th at the Christiansburg Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Kenneth Kingrea and Rev. Richard Kingrea officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. The Quesenberry Family is being served by Horne Funeral Service, Christiansburg. (382-2612)
