Travis Clarke Simpkins

Travis Clarke Simpkins, age 77, of Radford went to be with the Lord on October 18, 2023. He was a lifetime member at the Riner Volunteer Fire Department (42 years), a member of the Izaak Walton League of America Claytor Lake Chapter (18 years), an avid hunter and trader, and a man who would do anything for anyone.
Travis was preceded in death by his parents, Ellis and Mildred Simpkins; sister, Shelby Roberts and brother-in-law, Bobby Roberts; and brother, Herbert Simpkins.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Gail; their children, Tammy Winkle (Mike Jones), Scott Simpkins (Angie), and Melissa Simpkins (Brian Broce); grandchildren, Heather Potter (Jeremie), Justin Winkle, Joshua Simpkins, and Tiffany Simpkins; great-grandkids, Marliegh, Austin, Misstey, Kalli, Hunter, and Logan; brothers, Sam Simpkins (Peggy), Nelson Simpkins (Deborah) and Don Simpkins; sisters, Linda Smith (Bob) and Teresa Davis; and his loving cat, Baby.
Special thanks to all his friends and family at the Riner Volunteer Fire Department, members of the Riner Rescue Squad, and his lifelong friends, Andy and Gay Grim.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 23, 2023, from 3-5 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 5 p.m. in the Chapel.
