Velma Collins

COLLINS, VELMA HIXON, 75, of Christiansburg died Saturday, August 6, 2005. She was a daughter of the late Bryant and Gay Hixon. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Collins, Sr.

Survivors include a son, A. J. Collins, Jr. of Christiansburg; a daughter and son-in-law, Vicki and Ken Soper of Richmond; two grandsons, Adam and Matthew Collins of Christiansburg; two granddaughters, Lynn Green (husband, Jimmy), and Becky Soper of Richmond; one great grandson, Buddy of Richmond; two sisters, Pauline McGuyer of Christiansburg and Bobbie Conner of Pilot; and a special friend, Helen Collins of Roanoke.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening, August 9th at the Horne Funeral Home in Christiansburg. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 10 at the Cambria Baptist Church with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
