Verree 'Reta' Marie Donathan, 78, of Shawsville, passed away on Wednesday, May 29, 2013.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Donathan; parents, Spracher R. Smith and Ella Sue Williams Smith; and brothers, Everette Smith, Booker Smith, Tommy Smith, and 2 infant brothers, Gilmer and Ras. She is survived by her children, Lori and George Miller, Tim and Diana Donathan, and Harold Donathan; brothers, Bobby Smith, Spracher Jr. Smith, Carmon Smith, and Jimmy Smith; sisters, Thelma Jean Bachelor, Ella Mertha Collins, Polly Kanode, and Maldeen Martin; 5 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and special friend, Eileen Edwards.
The family will receive friends on Friday, May 31, 2013, from 6-8 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 1st, at 1 p.m. at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, Den Hill Road, with Rev. Ed Watkins officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery, Christiansburg.
