Wade Wilburn a resident of Christiansburg died early Wednesday morning at Montgomery County Regional Medical Center. He was born November 10 1936. He graduated from Shawsville High School in 1955 then Served in the United States Army. Wade was a machinist and was the former owner of Highland Precision Corp. of Christiansburg.
Wade was an active member of Park United Methodist Church.. He was always there to help with the many community projects. He was a devoted husband and was loved by many family members and friends.
Wade was preceded in death by his parents Claude Wilburn and Lyndall Harris Wilburn. by brothers C.B. Wilburn Jr. James (Buck) Wtlburn, William Wilburn and Donald Wilburn and a sister Judy Wilburn. Also a very special Mother-in-Law Elizabeth Hoback.
He is survived by his loving wife Darlene Hoback Wilburn, stepsons Victor Craighead, Paul Craighead, daughter in Law Missy Craighead and grandson Zachary Craighead; a brother Robert Wilburn Sr., four sisters Norma Aliff, Patsy Caldwell, Jane Wilburn and Ruth Wilburn and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions be made to the Park United Methodist Church Neighbor Sonshine Club, c/o Judy Stephens 1675 Forelmont St., Christiansburg, Va. 24073.
The family will receive friends at the Horne Funeral Home Friday, November 19, 2010 from 5 – 8 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, November 20, 2010 at Park United Methodist Church, 306 Park St, Christiansburg with Pastors Mike Sanborn and Pastor Sebert Rorrer officiating. Interment in Sunset Cemetery.
