East, Wayne Nelson, 67, of Elliston, VA, passed away on Saturday, September 25, 2010. He was born February 15, 1943 in Ironto, VA to the late Russell John and Lottie Newman East. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Clyntis East.
He retired from Norfolk and Southern Railroad as a signal supervisor after 32 years of service. He enjoyed restoring classic cars, raising German Shepherds, and was a member of the Moose Lodge at Williamson, WV.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Elaine East; sons, Robert East of Ironto, VA and Brian East and wife Shirley of Statesville, NC; 4 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and aunts; brother-in-law, Bob and Jean Perdue of Blacksburg; VA; sister-in-law, Kathie and Reggie Conner of Shawsville; VA; and mother-in-law, Odell Perdue of Shawsville, VA.
The family would like to thank Good Samaritan Hospice and caregivers Daniel Boone and Trish.
The family will receive friends on Monday, September 27, 2010 from 5:00 until 8:00 pm at Horne Funeral Home. A graveside funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, September 28, 2010 at 11:00 am at Reesedale Cemetery.
