William Aldridge

October 10, 1930 — October 16, 2008

ALDRIDGE, WILLIAM H. (BILL), age 77, of Christiansburg, passed away Thursday, October 16, 2008 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

A 1953 graduate of Lynchburg College, he was also a US Army Veteran. He was owner and operator of retail furniture business’s for over forty-four years, including, Fashion House Furniture, “on the Square.” Elder of the Snowville Christian Church, he was Past President of the Christiansburg Chamber of Commerce, and a past board member of New River Valley Health Foundation.

Born in Henry County “Martinsville” he was the son of the late Ashley and Myrtle Aldridge. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Lucas Aldridge; sons; Lee Aldridge, Staten Island, New York, Sam Aldridge, Gilford, New Hampshire, Bill Aldridge, Christiansburg, VA; daughter, Beth Aldridge, Marshfield, MA; grandchildren, Andrew Aldridge, Forest Aldridge, Libby Aldridge, Eamon Aldridge, Kelly A. Noto & husband, Steve, Brannon Aldridge; great granddaughter, Sarah Elizabeth Noto; a sister, Betty Ann Hodges, Christiansburg, VA; aunt, Freda Robertson, Martinsville; and many, many special friends.

In lieu of flowers the family asked memorial may be made to the Bill Aldridge Children’s Fund at Snowville Christian Church, c/o Mrs. William Guill, 906 Robertson Street, Radford, VA 24141 or the Christiansburg Rescue Squad, Riner Station, Box 176, Christiansburg, VA 24068.

The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 Saturday, Oct. 18, at the Horne Funeral Service. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 19th at the Snowville Christian Church conducted by Pastor Jonathan Webster with interment to follow in the Lucas Family Cemetery.
