William ‘Bill’ Corell, 88, of Riner, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 16, 2017, at his home with his wife and her cousin by his side. Born in Riner on September 6, 1929, he was the son of the late Rex and Rosa Corell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, George V. Corell; a sister, Sylvia Hill; and a step-son, Don Adams.
Bill was a hard working, humble, goodhearted person. He worked up and down the East Coast for seven years where he made many friends. But he always came back to Union Valley where he was raised and to the Union Valley Chapel where he taught church and Sunday school most of his adult life.
He will be greatly missed by his wife of 67 years, Lucy Corell; two sons, Gary and wife Linda Corell of Newport, Bruce Corell; daughter, Jean Corell, both of Riner; grandchildren, Richard, Leighann, Carly, Kristen, and Mitch; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at Horne Funeral Home on Monday, November 20, 2017, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Shahn Wilburn officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the Funeral Service. A private Graveside Service will follow in the Goins Family Cemetery, Riner.
The family would like to greatly thank Radford Health & Rehab and Good Samaritan Hospice for all they did helping take care of Bill.
