William Carl ‘Bill’ Jackson, 79, of Christiansburg, passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2013.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, William Andrew Jackson and Ethel Meador Jackson. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mary Ann Jackson; son, William ‘Billy’ Jackson of Columbus, OH; daughters, Barbara Novell & husband Al of Salem, VA, and Mary Williams & husband, Jim of McDonough, GA; grandchildren, Jeremy Novell, Andrew Novell, and Molly Williams; great-grandchildren, Andi Grace, Jackson, and Levi Novell.
Bill retired from Radford Arsenal in 1994 after 38 years of service. He was a member of Christiansburg Baptist Church and taught Sunday school for many years, as well as was an active participant in the choir. He was a Southern Baptist ordained deacon. Bill was also an avid West Virginia football fan.
The family will receive friends on Friday, April 5, 2013, from 5-8 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 6th, 11 a.m. at Christiansburg Baptist Church, 2895 Roanoke Street, with Rev. Sean Couch and Mr. Andrew Novell officiating the service. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg.
