William Cline Phillips, 94 of Radford, went to be with the Lord on Friday October 2, 2015.
Cline served in WW II as a Sergeant Tec 4 Long Shoreman and earned the Good Conduct metal. He enjoyed farming, family and friends. He was a member of Laurel Hill Church of Christ in Radford.
The son of the late William Earnest and Beatrice Ruth Quesenberry Phillips, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Magdeline Dailey Phillips; brothers and sister, Cleddie Phillips, Gae Phillips Showalter, Kirby Phillips, Eldridge Phillips, Cobern Phillips, Kenneth Phillips. Surviving are his daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis and Dan Rich of Trenton, NJ; sons and daughters-in-law, Allen and Darlene Phillips and Marion and Tonya Phillips, all of Radford. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Amanda, Bryan, Brandon, Allison, Riley, Jenny, Dan, Vova, Katia and Mark; as well as his sister, Leah Phillips Gillie.
The family will receive friends at Horne Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 6, 2015, from 5-8 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 with Mr. Blake Griffith and Mr. Rudy Shelburne conducting the services. Interment will follow in Phillips-Kessler Cemetery, Indian Valley.
In lieu of flowers, memorials maybe made to the charity of one’s choice.
