William Williams

July 5, 1924 — August 14, 2005

WILLIAMS, WILLIAM ?BILL? EDWARD, age 81, of Shawsville,VA passed away Sunday, August 14, 2005 at his home.

He was a member of the Craighill Masonic Lodge # 160 for forty-seven years. He served the Shawsville community as a member of the Shawsville Rescue Squad and Lay Ministerial Association. He visited patients at Meadowbrook Nursing Home and Richfield Retirement Home on a daily basis and held church services on Sunday for the patients there as well as at the Payne Center of Richfield.

Born in Elkhorn, West Virginia he was the son of the late George W. and Naomi Pickett Williams he was also preceded in death by two brothers, Clarence (Punk) Williams and Roy Williams.

He is survived by his wife, Mildred J. Williams; daughters, Martha Sue and Danny Smith, Judith Ann Linkous Jedid, [Barry Linkous], Regina Ryan , [William R. Ryan]; grandchildren, Robert and Tracy Ryan, Kelley and Brad Sutphin, John Ryan, Erin Moore, Adam Smith, Brandi Linkous, Ashley Linkous, Dana Carroll and Damon Linkous; great grandchildren, Kaitlin Moore, Jamie Moore, Emma Ryan, Anna Ryan, Mitch Sutphin, Taylor and chase Carroll and Gavin Linkous; brothers and sisters-in-law, George (June) W. Williams, Jr. and Ida Lou, Joseph A. and Bettie Williams; sisters, and brothers-in-law, Margie W. and Charles Hurst, Hazel W. Chumley Wagner; sisters-in-law, Helen Williams and Phyllis Williams; numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 16th, at the Horne Funeral Home, Christiansburg. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 17th in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Willie Yates officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens with Masonic Graveside Rites conducted by Craighill Lodge # 160 A.F. & A.M.
